Mrs. Ernestine Horne, a beautiful Queen and the matriarch of our family, was called to her eternal rest on Sunday, August 30th,2026.

She was born June 8, 1944, in Irwinton, Wilkinson County, Georgia, to the late William and Christine Blash. Her family later moved to Dublin, Georgia, where she was raised alongside her siblings by her devoted grandmother, the late Mamie Lee Smith, affectionately known as “Mrs. Sweet.”

Ernestine devoted nearly 20 years of service to the Oxford Shirt Factory and later worked several years at Evans Cabinet Company. In 2014, she became a devoted member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, faithfully serving and worshiping at the Kingdom Hall. Ernestine will be remembered for her love of family, storytelling, acts of service, kindness to others, and, of course, her beloved dressing and chicken and dumplings.

She was preceded in death by her younger sister, Patricia Blash; daughter, Patricia Yvette Knight; brothers, Larry (Eugenia) Blash and Leon Blash; niece, LaToya Knight; former husband, Johnny Knight; and husband, Willie J. Horne Jr.

Ernestine leaves to cherish her memory her children, LaGina (Ernest) Blash-Henderson and Willie “Jamie” (Caroline) Horne III; godsons, Tony Horne and Ricky Horne; brother, Herbert Blash; sister, Jackie Pearson; sister-in-law, Debra Blash; son-in-law, Timothy Turner; nieces, Ashley Blash and Shantaya Dudley; nephews, Chris Blash and Pete (Angel) Primus; and her beloved “road dog” and sister-cousin, Hazelean Nesbitt.

She also leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren, Travis Blash, LaKendra Blash, Ernest (Reasheada) Sinkfield, Shaun (Ashley) Horne, Jamesha Horne, Keith Hunt, Kezaya Adams, Nazir Knight, and Kevar Taylor; along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
